サイカス・カイルンシアナの矮性個体です。
葉の頂点までの高さが13㎝。
新しい葉が1本だけ出てきました。
本来のサイカス・カイルンシアナの豪快な新葉の展開は
見ることが出来ません。
C.カイルンシアナの先祖は、こういう矮性になる遺伝子で、
隕石衝突後の恐竜などの大量絶滅期を生き残ったのでしょうか。

I am Hideki. I have a passion for poetry written in English. The name of some plants often appears in poems. So, I feel keenly interested in plants. I want to explain the meaning of 'Cycas'. It is a genus (the type of the family Cycadaceae) of widely distributed tropical trees having pinnate leaves and columnar stems covered with the persisting bases of the old leaves.
